Our Focus Areas
Education, community support, and evangelism — the three pillars of the Chief J.O. Omuya Foundation.
The scholarship scheme of the Foundation covers public secondary schools and tertiary institutions in Nigeria, with primary focus on students from the Kogi Central Senatorial District. The Foundation also extends support to widows and evangelism efforts — reflecting the personal values of the founder.

Education & Scholarships
The Foundation has a five-member selection/monitoring committee charged with the responsibility of selecting qualified applicants. The committee also monitors those selected till the end of their courses. Because of the number of students to be covered annually, the Foundation shall give grants — not full scholarships. It is important to note that these grants go a long way in alleviating the educational problems of would-be beneficiaries.
The Foundation's scholarship scheme covers public secondary schools and tertiary institutions, with grants awarded annually to indigent but brilliant students and orphans from the Kogi Central Senatorial District.

Support for Widows
One of the founding pillars of Chief Omuya's personal charity — long before the Foundation was formally established — was the provision of a modest lifeline for widows. Having witnessed first-hand the sufferings that widows endure, he made it a priority to extend support to alleviate such hardships.
The Foundation continues this tradition through periodic support initiatives that help widows within the communities served, restoring dignity and providing practical assistance to those who need it most.
“He has given similar support to widows to alleviate such sufferings that his own mother had also gone through.” — From the Foundation's official brief

Evangelism Support
Chief Omuya's faith as a devout Anglican has always been central to his life and his charity work. From the very beginning, he combined his charity activities with evangelism — extending support to churches and evangelism efforts alongside his scholarship and widows programmes.
The Foundation continues to support evangelism efforts as part of its broader commitment to community development — recognising that spiritual wellbeing is inseparable from material progress.
